2009-2010 Off to a Great Start!
We are already into our third week of school, and this year’s beginning has been great! We have been able to purchase new software with stimulus money that will help those students who have fallen a little behind to catch up with their friends. At the elementary school we are working on getting a new computer from Apple that actually reads aloud to our students. These are not recordings. All one has to do is to bring up text on the screen from any source, highlight it, and the computer will read it to you.
At the junior-senior high school, we have been able to get a few of our dropouts to come back to school by enrolling them in the Crossings Alternative School. We are also making it easier for students to catch up with their classmates by using credit recovery software, web based math tutoring, and a new reading program. Our top students can now get college credit by enrolling in dual-credit classes offered through Vincennes University.
A lot is happening to make CC a better place for our students. We have started a $12.7 renovation project that will change the look of our tired buildings and will greatly improve our heating, cooling, and ventilation system. We were very happy to learn that our application for $10,000,000 in interest free bonds was granted. This will mean a $7.1 million savings in interest costs over the next fifteen years.
We’re proud of Clinton Central Schools and are delighted to welcome some first rate new faculty.

Megan Jablonowki—We were delighted to be able to hire Ms. Jablonowski to become our new speech and hearing clinician. She comes to us from Ohio where she graduated from Cleveland State for her bachelors degree and from Ohio University for her masters. Ms. Jablonowski will provide speech therapy and other assistance to a clientele of around 70 at both the elementary and high schools.
Jennifer McCampbell is our newest special education teacher. Ms. McCampbell is an experienced teacher, most recently in Logansport, and before that in Highland, Indiana. She is helping as a resource teacher at the junior-senior high school, working mostly with seventh and eighth graders. We are happy to have found a teacher who is fitting right in as an addition to the junior-senior high school staff.
Connie Tishner, R.N.—Connie Tishner has replaced our long-time school nurse, Marjorie Wyrick. Connie just completed her BSN degree at IUK and she continues to keep her skills current by working in the Emergency Room at St. Vincent’s Frankfort. Nurse Tishner hasn’t missed a beat when it comes to providing her skills to our students. She is gearing up for H1N1 vaccinations when they become available in October.
